FOR NEW CLIENTS

I’m so glad you’re here!

These are a few common questions I have found come up with new clients. If there is anything you can’t find here please feel free to contact me directly jen@modernself.online.

  • During our first session we will talk about how you currently feel. We may use scaling questions to help you identify this in a measurable way. This can then serve as a starting point for us to be able to look back and reflect on your progress.

    Prior to working together you will also complete the new client questionnaire. This is a simple contractual agreement between us which also covers briefly your medical history.

  • Following each session I will provide a recording of the hypnosis part of our session together for your records. Between sessions I encourage clients to listen back to their session recordings. (I find clients who listen once half way through the week do see the best results!) However it is 100% optional to do so.

    in addition, i always recommend that you keep a journal handy. If you can find a few moments amongst your morning or evening routine, to jot down a few thoughts on how you are feeling, this becomes a fantastic reference point for you to reflect back on.

  • If you leave our session feeling that you don’t remember everything, or anything, that I said — that’s totally normal! It’s normal to feel as though you were in a light state of sleep. iI’s normal to experience a dream-like state.

    In fact, that means you were in a deep state of hypnosis. Your subconscious is always listening, always ‘on’, and trying to make sense of all that is going on within your environment.

    Just because your conscious mind doesn’t remember what was said, your subconscious will still have absorbed the positive suggestions with no resistance from your critical thinking.

  • Yes! Due to the small handful of clients i take on monthly my schedule is very flexible. If you need to change an appointment (no matter how last minute) you can always email me jen@modernself.online and we will find something that works for us both.

    I want your time invested in hypnotherapy to be a break from your busy life. Please never stress about cancelling last minute or notifying me about a curveball in your schedule!

  • The short answer is no.

    I do not offer refunds on session packages. I offer a minimum of 4 sessions to new clients in order to demonstrate the power in your commitment. This amount of time is important for you to feel accomplished and experience what hypnotherapy has to offer.

    If there is a family or medical emergency that restricts you from meeting for 6 months or longer, I would of course make an exception.

    Otherwise session packages have no expiry and you can always pick up right where you left off. :)
